We are like two crazy people, playing with the fire of passion.
There’s this constant tug of war, the teasing whenever time allows, and somehow, in those moments, we live in a world of our own.
The restrictions and the lines are vividly drawn. We know exactly where they are. And yet, within our words and the moments we share, there is a certain freedom.
Maybe it’s simply an acknowledgement and acceptance of what is, what could have been, and what should never be.
Still, here we are—two crazy people, playing with fire.
To love is to breathe—to feel freely, while respecting the boundaries that have been drawn.❤️
Yes, I’ve arrived at that phase of life. My knees? Oh, they’ve made a dramatic exit, thanks to arthritis. The cartilage in both knees is gone, which means my favorite activities have vanished too—goodbye, running and yoga! And let me tell you, that goodbye hurt more than my joints.
Meanwhile, my hormones are acting like a fireworks display, constantly going off without warning. This means I can go from weeping over a commercial to snapping at someone for breathing wrong—all in the same hour. And let’s not even get started on the sugar cravings, courtesy of glucose levels playing hopscotch every day. My belly fat? It’s taken on a life of its own, and I swear it’s plotting something.
Here comes the vicious cycle: “I can’t exercise because my joints hurt, which means I gain weight, which makes my joints hurt even more.” Exhausting, right? Well, one day I decided: Enough. There has to be more to menopause than this chaos. I wanted the 51-year-old version of me to be healthier, stronger, and maybe even a little fiercer.
So, what did I do? I became a cougar 浪. Enter: the most handsome coach in the world. Picture this: piercing blue eyes, full of concern (or maybe just mild amusement). Our first conversation went something like this:
Coach (gazing at me, probably wondering if I’m serious): “What do you want to happen with your body?”
Me: “Uhm, well, I don’t want to be Barbie… but I’d love to be fit, wrangle this midline before it gives me a cardiac arrest, and be able to jog at 70.”
Now, my coach doesn’t mess around. He pushes me to break my limits but always respects my limitations. He doesn’t care that I’m 51. “The body follows where the mind leads,” he says, which sounds so inspiring until you’re gasping for air after 20 squats.
So here I am, a month in, lifting weights—30 kg, 6 sets of 3 reps, deadlifts, and squats. My knees are getting stronger, and I can almost hear them whispering, “Thank you.” My coach, still the ruthless gentleman, has slowly reintroduced the treadmill into my life, though I keep begging him to let me run on real terrain. His answer: “Soon. Not yet. Patience.”
Menopause and aging may throw curveballs, but they don’t have to steal the things we love. Two months from now, I’ll be back to my morning yoga or jogging short distances—mark my words.
This is healing. I love me, and that means I’m going to take care of me.
Coach and I call this “wonder woman”project . I always wonder ..😄😄😄
I am wondering where you are and can hear my thoughts ?
Back then if there is something that I wanted to know or see another view I would sent you a message . I may often than not agree with your ideas but at least I can see the other side of the spectrum .
Remember in College when I refused to attend a lecture , you would always tell “pakadi na gad ako it bahala ha im”( come here I will take care of you) when we had that beautiful graduation solo picture of ours . We have exchanged without any cheesy dedication ..just a word of “para di ka makalimot ha ak ” (so you wont forget me)
Months have passed since you won your battle. I miss you, I miss that person whom I could talked asked and through your ideas I see mine, through your opinions I form my stand. I miss our friendship ..
There is this point in ourlives that we face with situations that we are not comfortable with . No matter how you would choose to look at it tackle it you will still end up being hurt.
There moments in ourlives that we are painted by the colors that does not describe the totally of us. It was a color that once came due to a situation. This becomes your color. No matter how many times you became a brighter shade. There will always be people that will remember you as a dark tone .
Months I have struggled , I wanted to prove them wrong , I wanted to unhurt myself by understanding the situation. But I can’t . So the cycle of being judge , feeling unsure circles around me.
Until that moment that I realized I know me better that anyone else . I am me , I am not perfect , I am a person that is embodied with different shades . I am colorful . I accept me and I love me …that is all that matters. I will wipe my tears look up to the sun …
I will shine because I am colorful … I am free .. I have learn and I am a beautiful imperfect soul .
We met people in different kinds of circumstances . Some of them stays for awhile and teaches us lessons while some stays a little bit longer and become our friend , while others are just gift from the universe for they are the ones we called SOULMATE
We walk in a path of lessons , of light that sparkle in a different directions.
We met souls with beautiful colors that sometimes blends with us while other times clashes that with the luminous light that we are projecting .
At times we stumble a color so unique that our hearts are drawn to embrace the keleidoscope of its shades . We love them with our hearts and trust them with ourlives .
Some of them treasure us like gold while others hold on to us like treasures .. Different phases , different stages.
But here is what I know .. when you find that light so precious as gold who loves you without any if’s and respects your boundary with kindness , understanding with no prejudices .
She your safe haven on a stormy day , the sun behind the dark clouds and the wind in midst of a desert . She is fierce enough to correct with love and compassionately listen to your pleas .
She is the gift that universe gave. She is your friend , your soulmate .
Path of light , path of respect .. friendship delights a soul .
